The main inspiration for the Maestoso hotel comes from the iconic white fences that are a recognizable regional motif. These fences serve as a connection between the large hotel volume and the local landscape, creating a harmonious bond. Instead of demolishing the old 1970s building, Enota proposes a sustainable approach to hotel renovation, breathing new life into the structure.
What sets the Maestoso hotel apart is its unique façade structure. This structure not only supports the added balconies but also integrates the building with the surrounding landscape. The parametrically modeled façade, made of wooden beams produced with CNC milling, adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the design.
The interior of the Maestoso hotel is equally impressive. The walls were carefully brushed and cleaned to reveal the rough concrete structure, creating a raw and industrial aesthetic. To add warmth and comfort, the interior spaces are furnished with a combination of wood and metal elements, creating a harmonious balance between nature and modernity.
With a size of 7,785 square meters and a footprint of 3,440 square meters, the Maestoso hotel offers ample space for guests to relax and enjoy their stay. The site, spanning 9,970 square meters, provides a serene and picturesque setting for this architectural gem.
The Maestoso hotel project began in 2018 and was completed in July 2021 in Lipica, Slovenia. The design team, led by Dean Lah and Milan Tomac, worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life. Their dedication and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of the hotel's design.
The Maestoso hotel has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2022. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate innovation, practicality, and adherence to professional and industrial standards.
The Maestoso hotel stands as a testament to the possibilities of sustainable renovation and innovative design. It showcases how old buildings can be transformed into modern and environmentally conscious spaces without compromising their original charm. Enota's vision and execution have created a truly remarkable hotel that seamlessly blends tradition and innovation.
